Pokémon UNITE was just announced this morning boasting a new strategic team battle game being developed together by The Pokémon Company and Tencent Games’ TiMi Studios. No confirmed release date as yet but we will keep you in the loop with launch details as they release. Pokémon UNITE has been planned to be a cross-platform game for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices and will be free to start.

This is where it gets interesting as the game has players battle against each other in 5-on-5 team battles. During battles, players will have to co-operate with teammates to catch wild Pokémon, level up and evolve their own Pokémon, and defeat opponents’ Pokémon while trying to earn more points than the opposing team within the allotted time. Sound familiar? The engine works and being cross platform the possibilities endless. Everyone around the globe who was or still on and playing Pokémon GO this is merge the love of that mobile game into the love of the Pokémon console games with a twist.

Pokémon UNITE introduces a new kind of Pokémon battle—one that requires teamwork and strategy. It is simple and yet full of intricacies waiting to be unpacked. Looking forward to see what else this game will have in-store before launch but that trailer and gameplay looked juicy.
